determining the quality of the information that is being provided by the
web site being viewed.
freedom in other countries. This site also analyzes religious,
political, and civil liberties by countries. This is a wonderful resource
loaded with charts and graphs.
There are also many international media sites that cover entire regions
of the world for news that are watched and listened to by millions of
people across the globe. Here are some examples:
This site also deals with the Eurasian area, and is also a great news
site.
This is the premier news site of the Arab world. In almost every
country in the Middle East if you are watching the news you are most
likely watching it on Al Jazeera. This Quatar based channel has been
nicknamed the "Arab CNN." Just recently the English language web
site has been launched, and the above link takes one there. (be warned,
the site is still suffering major technical difficulties after hackers
attacked the web site, it seems to have stabilized for now, but their
coverage of the war in Iraq has angered many people and it is believed
this was the motivation of the hackers.)
